Established in 2022 and located in Bolton, Greater Manchester, Crescent Medical is Crescent Pharmaceutical Group’s flagship solid dosage manufacturing facility and a key part of the Group’s long-term strategy to expand UK manufacturing capability and strengthen supply chain resilience.
The site has been developed to provide large-scale manufacturing of tablets, capsules and liquid medicines, with dedicated infrastructure designed to support the future manufacture and storage of controlled drugs. As investment and regulatory approvals continue, Crescent Medical will significantly enhance the Group’s ability to manufacture a wider range of pharmaceutical products in-house, supporting both the UK healthcare market and international growth.
As part of Crescent Pharmaceutical Group’s continued investment in UK pharmaceutical manufacturing, Crescent Medical benefits from modern production facilities, advanced manufacturing equipment and scalable infrastructure capable of supporting high-volume commercial production. Together with the Group’s wider manufacturing network, the site strengthens Crescent’s vertically integrated model, enabling greater control over quality, supply continuity, technical expertise and speed to market.

Our extensive manufacturing capabilities include:
4 x Granulation suites
4 x Blending machines,
7 x Compression suites
1 x Capsule filling machine,
3 x tub/pot filling lines
2 x Coating suites, with capacities of 200kg and 400kg respectively
1 x 1500L vessel dedicated to liquid production
6 x High-speed blister packaging lines, including state-of-the-art machinery such as Bosch, Marchesini Integra, Uhlmann, and Ima.
The Crescent Medical facility spans approximately 80,500 square feet, incorporating dedicated manufacturing suites, high-speed packaging operations, analytical laboratory facilities, warehousing and modern office accommodation. Significant investment has been made in upgrading the site, creating a modern pharmaceutical manufacturing environment designed to the highest standards of quality, safety and operational efficiency. This scalable infrastructure provides the foundation for continued expansion of the Group's UK manufacturing capabilities, supporting reliable supply to the NHS, pharmacy sector and international markets.
