Exercises for weight loss at home
When starting a weight loss journey – it can be easy to lose motivation when it comes to both healthy eating and exercising more, because there is often nothing more tempting after a long day at work than some chocolate or other unhealthy snacks whilst watching TV.
However, in order to see results, you have to make them happen. But exercise doesn’t have to be daunting or something you dread. You can make a dedicated effort to your health, with these exercises for weight loss at home.
We’re going to run through some simple exercises/challenges that you can do in the comfort of your own home so that when you can’t be bothered to move, at least you don’t have to move far!
The Sally Squat Challenge
This is a fun and more interesting way to get your daily squats in. The challenge is to squat multiple times for alternating lengths of time throughout a full song. You’ll be squatting to the song ‘Flower’ – Moby, making for a motivating challenge that makes you want to keep going for longer than you might if you were just squatting off your own accord. You can either play the song or watch a Youtube video where someone else will be doing the challenge as well. Making this a part of your daily routine is easy to do and will generate some good results in the long term! Click here for a good Youtube video to follow.
Resistance band workouts
There are so many achievable workouts on Youtube that make it easier than ever to have a great workout at home. Get yourself a resistance band of whatever strength feels right for you and start working out. They will guide you step by step through the exercises and will encourage you to keep going even if you find it particularly tough.
Repeat 3 times if you can!
- 30 Sit Ups
- 30 Toe Taps
- 30 Bicycle Crunches
- 30 Hip Thrusts
This one is as easy as it seems. Just climb up and down your staircase as many times as you can, at a fast pace. You’ll be surprised how quickly this one gets tiring.
The above are just a few of many good ways to start introducing exercise into your daily routine. Keep it up, you’re on your way to a better you!
